This specification covers a low-alloy steel in the form of welding wire.This wire has been used typically as filler metal for gas-tungsten-arc and gas-metal-arc welding of low alloy steels of similar composition where the weld area is required to have strength and notch-toughness comparable to that of the parent metal without the need for post-weld heat treatment, but usage is not limited to such applications.
